The Mandinga Experiment
Live visual performance
Alex Shaw is a percussionist, vocalist, composer and arts educator specializing in Brazilian music traditions. As part of his work with Intercultural Journeys, Alex created a performance series called The Mandinga Experiment which included original musical compositions, dancers and capoeristas. For this project, I performed live visual sets using archival capoeira film footage.
